BRACKENLAND RAN

20th November 08

I hope you like updated pictures of Ran and Monty (the others will follow shortly) plus the new additions to the family – two Persians, a female seal colour point called Mali and a blue male named BB, the slightly slimmer person in the background is myself (I have to date lost 24 pounds with the help of weight watchers) – long may it continue.

Carley is thankfully still feeling well and is now over halfway through her pregnancy, she is due the beginning of March, being so petite she will be having a c section and of course I will go over to be with her, Eliran and of course Shakedy, I can hardly wait.

I miss seeing all the Deerhound people as we have missed a few shows. I am still busy practising with the dogs (weather allowing!) Marley has now got a slightly slimmer waistline, I am sure he would have lost a few more kilos if he had not managed to grab the opportunity of stealing some of Hobby and Amber’s food whilst I was on the phone a couple of times. I had put the girl’s bowls in one room, Marley in the hallway. Marley started to bark so that I could not carry on a conversation so I let him into the room, where he then slipped into the utility room polishing off Amber and Hobby’s food before I had noticed. He managed to accomplish this a few times over a period of weeks till it got to the point where Hobby was looking a lot leaner than she should have been and Marley was thickening up. So we took the opportunity away from him and placed him in a kennel whilst the others were eating, it only took a few days for Hobby to regain the weight plus the added bonus of making her a lot keener to eat her food quickly and for Marley to lose his added pounds.

The rain and wind were so bad last weekend that Boris could not sleep in his kennel and had to come into the house where he caused riots amongst the Deerhounds who just wanted to lie around but were unable to as Boris kept on nipping their tails plus other vital organs, I did threaten to put him out despite the weather but of course did not have the heart to do so. We had the first of our holiday maker guests a few weeks ago, who stayed in our static caravan. They seemed a very nice couple and raved about the lovely surroundings, so I was a little surprised when the next morning they drove off without saying goodbye. It was only a few hours later when the lady telephoned to say the reason they had not said goodbye was because Boris would not let them into the house to do so, or to use the bathroom, (Whoops, I felt mortified). Next time, if there ever is Boris will not be allowed to roam freely around scaring the guests!

Tantra leads a very busy life at the moment with her drama class on a Monday, plus two dance classes on a Friday, tap and modern. I decided that since it was boring to wait around whilst she was dancing to join her tap class (a class of children aged 7 – 9 years) along with my friend Sam being the only other adult. It is great fun, my family were a little embarrassed when I told them and even more so when they learnt that I will be participating in the show for the parents of the children by dancing to singing in the rain with a little rainbow umbrella over my shoulder – how to grow old disgracefully!

Well that is all the news for now.
