I am now running a diet club for Wichita and Marley who have got so fat that I was worried that their lifespan would be affected. I have kennelled them together so there is no opportunity whatsoever for them to get any spare food from any other source. The first day when I gave them just dried food they left it – probably thinking that I must have forgotten to put the meat in. Day 2 and a little was eaten. We are now on day 6 and they are eating it rather reluctantly. I am bribing them to go for a walk by holding a food bowl filled with goodies and walking at a fast pace in front of them down to the field and around it three times. I then leave them (without the goodies) to play in the field for an hour or two. Reality is that they just lie down, but I am hopeful that once they have lost some weight they might feel a little more energetic!
The puppies are looking lovely and most of them leave this week for their new homes. There is one little bitch that answers to her name rather than just puppy and follows me around the garden whenever I take them out for a play, which is very endearing and a rather clever ploy on her part as she gets extra fuss.
The kittens are extremely cute and very active climbing higher each day taking more risks. It is now very obvious that they are all going to end up the same colour as their mother Tiana but are much larger boned then her, so I suppose they will end up being the same size as Tama.
The children from Tantra’s school came to our house on Thursday to see the puppies and kittens which they seemed to enjoy. The weather was a little iffy so we ended up having cakes and drinks in the house before they walked back to school.
I did try to cut the grass this morning three quarters of the way through the heavens opened and I had to abandon being a gardener. Hopefully it will stop soon so that I can finish it.
Well that is all for now.
